Foundations

All sheds utilize durable, pressure-treated 4x4 skids for extended lifespan and versatility. These skids enable placement on any level surface while ensuring 3.5 inches of ground clearance for optimal ventilation beneath the shed.

Compliance and Durability

In accordance with Minnesota building codes, treated lumber is used for all components in contact with concrete, guaranteeing compliance and longevity.
For larger sheds exceeding 10x12 feet, we go above and beyond code by incorporating a minimum of three 4x4 pressure-treated skids. This not only reinforces structural integrity but also maintains essential airflow with the 3.5-inch ground clearance. This meticulous construction ensures a floor that will endure for years to come.

Solid Floor Construction

Recognizing the significance of a sturdy foundation, all sheds incorporate 2x4 floor joists spaced 16 inches apart. Each joist is securely nailed to the skids, creating an exceptionally strong and stable platform designed to last a lifetime.
High-quality plywood is employed for the floor, renowned for its strength and durability. Combined with the closely spaced joists, this plywood offers an unwavering platform capable of supporting even the most demanding storage needs. For motorcycle storage, however, an additional floor block beneath the kickstand is recommended for optimal support.

Since 1972, LP has been building a greener future by using 100% sustainably sourced wood fiber to manufacture its products.” It also takes paint VERY well, often lasting 10-15 years between coats!

Advanced Fastening: Electro-galvanized ring shank nails resist rust and feature sharp threads that bite into the wood, preventing loosening and ensuring lasting structural integrity.
Weatherproof Sealing: Galvanized metal "Z-bars" seal all horizontal seams in the siding, effectively blocking water infiltration and safeguarding your belongings.
